“Actually, the best gift you could have given her was a lifetime of adventures.”
Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
Bonjour CIAO aloha! I’m Denise, a twenty-something Californian with roots in the Bay Area, grown both north and south. Presently, I’m breathing in the salty pacific ocean air from San Francisco Australia.
Growing up, I flaunted rain boots with tutus, paired stripes with polka dots, and could read books from sunrise to sundown without a break. My fantasies consisted of flying cars, of speaking animals, of the unattainable, with a boundless imagination.
As time grew on, I became distracted by the world. Although this digital age has proven life to be easily consumed by entertainment, or comparing our lives to what often seems like framed perfection, I believe everyone should feel empowered to create their own story and discover their own existence. Embrace the little things in life that spread a smile on your face, bring yourself comfort when you’ve got the blues, or breathe in the fresh air we are so gifted by from nature. Ultimately, breed perspective that recognizes what we do have, and make the best of it, adding just a teaspoon of sunshine to illuminate your day. That was the original name I labeled my blog, as I wanted to reflect how the little things can make your life sunnier. Ultimately, this project of mine has become palmside, embracing a lifestyle not just in nature, along the beach or coast, but also among the palms – my happy place.
Being innately curious and free-spirited, I realized my lust for exploration and a desire to understand the world upon my possession of a passport and car. My mission is to inspire each individual to go out there and wander, discover, be liberated in ways that suit you best. Through a collection of my discoveries in roadtripping, jetsetting, hiking, cooking, or another DIY project, adventure is always waiting around the corner. See what the world has to offer, and be exuberant about the life you lead by instilling a little splash of sunshine and cheer in your life.
